Description:
This is a rustic
rectangular
drop leaf table on
trestle legs with cross supports.
It has a unique side leaf support mechanism.
: 24” H X 25-43” W X 16” D

Walnut
Condition:
Very good. Some marring, worm holes and blemishes
commensurate with 250+ years.
These markings add to its uniqueness.
Authenticity/Provenance: I have sent
pictures and a description of this table to the foremost auction houses in
Philadelphia
and New York.
Based on the pictures, their specialists indicate the table most likely
dates to the early 18th century (1700s)
and have advised me of a consignment estimate of between $700
and $1000. I can forward contact names on request.
Several other pictures of the locking mechanism
and hinges are available on request.
The table has been in my family's estate since 1940.
